Σειρές BAE, BMEAV με ενσωματωμένο encoder
The motors with integrated encoder represent a revolutionary component in the automation field offering to the OEM and to the final user new opportunities and notable economic advantages due to its user-friendly design. The new range of three phase asynchronous motors, with integrated encoder has been designed specifically to offer the final user a comprehensive choice of an already widely tested three phase motor, with superior quality.
The MGM motors with integrated encoder can be divided in two series of brake motors (BAE/BMEAV). The power range starts from 0.06 kW up to 45 kW (shaft height between 56 mm and 225 mm). The unit consists of a three phase asynchronous motor with high efficiency and low moment of inertia and with the actual encoder located in the back (ND-side). The motors have been thoroughly tested in order that they could be driven by use of an inverter. For this reason a careful dynamic balancing together with an accurate insulation system of the motor has been adopted in order to withstand the main electrical and mechanical stress.
The mechanical coupling is that of a standardized motor (special shaft and flange are available on request), wirings are very simple: power and electrical signal duly separated.
MGM motors with integrated encoder can be supplied in conformity with requirements of standards UL 1004 “Electric motors” and CSA C 22.2 No. 100-95 “Motors and generators” (cCSAus homologation).
MGM propose 2 different motor series suitable to meet accurately all possible drives challenges:
- BAE series: asynchronous three phase fan cooled brake motors with integrated encoder and shaft heights between 71 mm and 225 mm. The encoder is located in the back of the motor (ND-side) in a safe place protected by a closed casing. Forced ventilation is available on request. The motor is supplied on standard basis with the brake having separate connections from that of the motor. The brake coil is AC as standard, while DC is available on request.
- BMEAV series: asynchronous three phase brake motors with DC brake with axial forced ventilation with integrated encoder and shaft heights between 63 mm and 132 mm. The encoder is located in the back of the motor (ND-side) between the brake and the servo fan. The motor is supplied on standard basis with the brake having separate connections from that of the motor. Also available on request is a brake hand release fitted on the brake side.
Encoder
The encoder is a rotational transducer to convert an angular movement into a series of electrical digital impulses. Usually the encoders used on MGM motors are based on the working principle of the angular movement trasduction. The reading system is based on the rotation of a radial graduated disc formed by opaque windows alternated with transparent ones. This system is all illuminated in perpendicular way by an infrared light source, so the light projects the disc image on the surface, which are covered by a grating, having the same step as the disc. The receiver’s work trasducing the light variations occuring with the disc shifting, converting them into their corresponding electrical variations.
In the incremental encoders the position is determined by the number of impulses from the zero index; in the absolute encoders the position is determined by the read of the output code, which is only for each position inside the turn.
The technical characteristics required in order to determine an incremental encoder are:
- Resolution
- Impulse of Zero
- Power supply
- Electronic output configuration
About the absolute encoders is also required:
- Code
- Single turn or Multi turn
The output cable is supplied on standard basis free without connector. On request the appropriate connector can be supplied.
Cooling
The cooling is usually delegated to the selfcooling of the motor itself (in BAE series). The motors belonging to the BMEAV series are forced cooling. On request the BMEAV series motors can be supplied in the version without forced ventilation (BME series-motors self cooled).
On request the BAE series-motors can be supplied with radial forced ventilation (BAESV with 2 extra fans on side) further than their own fan.
